OpenAI runs ChatGPT for Teachers, a free ChatGPT workspace for verified US K-12 teachers, school staff, administrators and district leaders, with unlimited access to OpenAI's flagship model, file uploads, connectors, image generation, deep research, shared projects and custom GPTs. OpenAI publishes no price for the plan, so the $240 shown is one year at the $20 monthly ChatGPT Plus price. It is free through June 2028, after which OpenAI says it may introduce or adjust pricing with advance notice. Students are not eligible, and a workspace can only include educators from your own district.

How to apply
5 steps- Go to chatgpt.com/plans/k12-teachers and click Get verified
- Sign in or create a ChatGPT account and start verification with your school or district email address
- Complete SheerID verification, which may use school records, your school's single sign-on or a review of uploaded documents
- Create a new workspace for yourself, your school or your district, or join an existing workspace tied to your district email domain
- Invite other verified educators from your district if you want to plan together; workspaces cannot include educators from other districts
