Anthropic's Claude Team plan for scientists gives a verified principal investigator or equivalent lab lead at an accredited university or nonprofit research institute free Standard seats for 12 months, normally $20 a month each on annual billing, and Premium seats at $15 a month instead of $100. The PI applies and then adds postdocs, graduate students and researchers, 1 to 25 seats per group, so students and postdocs get seats only through their PI, and for-profit companies and industry R&D teams are not eligible. The sign-up page says promotional pricing has reached capacity for Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science and Informatics, and Software, Computer and Electrical Engineering labs, and the offer is capped at an initial 10,000 scientists and may close at any time. A valid payment method is required, the plan renews at the then-current price after 12 months unless you cancel, and a group with no activity for 90 days can lose the discount.
