Anthropic's Claude for Teachers gives verified US K-12 educators, including classroom teachers, instructional coaches, specialists, librarians and counselors, a full year of free access to Claude Pro features such as Claude Code and Cowork, plus teaching skills and a curriculum connector mapped to standards in all 50 states. Individual teachers verify with a school email, and school or district admins can instead set up a free managed organization for all staff. You must sign up by June 30, 2027, Anthropic only says usage limits are higher than a standard free account, and its pages do not say what the plan costs after the free year. It is for educators only, so students cannot use it.

How to apply
6 steps- Go to claude.com/solutions/teachers and click Verify now under For US K-12 teachers
- Sign in to Claude and verify your educator status with your school email address
- Accept the K-12 terms, and your account moves onto the free Claude for Teachers plan
- Use Pro-level features such as Claude Code, Cowork and the Learning Commons connector for lesson planning
- School or district admins can instead click Get started under For US K-12 schools and districts and follow the district setup guide to create a free organization for all staff
- Sign up by June 30, 2027 to get the full year of free access
