Convex is a reactive backend platform with a built-in database, server functions and real-time sync, commonly used behind apps built on Lovable, Replit and Bolt. The startup program gives eligible teams up to 1 year free of Convex Professional with no seat fees, plus 30% off usage-based fees on up to $30,000 of usage, which caps the usage discount at $9,000. Convex Professional lists at $25 per developer per month, so the waived seat fees add roughly $300 per developer per year. Both amounts are stated as "up to" and are decided by Convex on manual review, so treat them as ceilings rather than a guaranteed grant.

How to apply

5 steps
  1. Create a Convex account, then go to https://dashboard.convex.dev/team/settings/billing and put the team on at least the Starter plan with a card on file. Convex states this is required before you apply.
  2. Copy your Team ID from the Convex dashboard under Profile > Team Settings > Access Tokens. The application form asks for it.
  3. If your company is in Y Combinator, stop here and use the Convex YC deal at https://deals.ycombinator.com/ instead. The Convex apply page routes YC companies there.
  4. Open https://www.convex.dev/startups/apply and fill in name, work email, company name, website, company LinkedIn, startup pitch, Team ID and where you heard about the offer. Add traction, growth or press links in the last field, since Convex uses them to verify the company.
  5. Tick the two required checkboxes (Starter plan with card on file, and agreement to the program terms at https://convex.link/term4startups), then submit. Convex reviews applications on a rolling 30-day basis.
