LLM API, an OpenAI-compatible API gateway, matches a new account's first deposit 1:1 in bonus credits, up to $1,000, and you can spend that balance inside Cursor by adding your LLM API key in Cursor's model settings. This is not a Cursor discount or subscription: the credit pays for model usage through your own key, which Cursor accepts only on Premium ($30 a month) and higher or on a legacy Pro, Pro+ or Ultra plan. The key covers local Chat, Agent and Edit with standard chat models, while Tab, Auto, Cloud Agents and the CLI always run on your Cursor plan. Deposits are non-refundable, and the offer is run by LLM API, not by Cursor.

How to apply
5 steps- Create an account on the LLM API homepage and choose AI for Production when onboarding asks what you are building, since that track carries the first-deposit match.
- Top up your balance before the offer countdown in your dashboard ends. LLM API adds the same amount in bonus credits, up to $1,000, and deposits cannot be refunded.
- Create an API key in your LLM API dashboard and copy it, because it is shown only once.
- Follow LLM API's Cursor guide: in Cursor open Settings, then Models, then API Keys, switch on OpenAI API Key and paste your key, then switch on Override OpenAI Base URL and set it to https://api.llmapi.ai/v1.
- Check your Cursor plan first: own keys work only on Premium and higher or a legacy Pro, Pro+ or Ultra plan, not on Free or Plus. While the override is on it applies to every model except Claude and Gemini, so switch it off when you want Cursor's own Composer or Grok models.
