Google gives eligible US college students aged 18 and over a free 12-month Google AI Pro plan with 4x the free tier's Gemini usage limits, 5 TB of storage, Gemini Spark and Gemini Omni, though Google's terms say trial usage limits can differ from paid plans. Outside the US, students in 140+ markets get a free year of the lower-tier Google AI Plus plan instead, and schools in Canada, Albania, Bolivia, Hong Kong, Macau and Tunisia are excluded. You verify through SheerID on a personal Google Account and add a payment method, and Google AI Pro renews at $19.99 a month unless you cancel before the year ends. Redeem it by December 31, 2026.

How to apply
5 steps- Go to gemini.google/students and click Claim Free Student Plan
- Sign in with a personal Google Account; school Workspace accounts and family group members do not qualify
- Choose the student offer shown for your region and verify your student status through SheerID with your school email address
- Add a payment method to finish sign-up; you are not charged during the 12 free months
- Cancel before the 12 months end if you do not want Google AI Pro to renew at $19.99 a month
