Mux sells hosted video infrastructure, covering upload, encoding, storage, delivery and playback through an API, plus a player and stream analytics. Its startup program grants $500 in credits against usage after you submit the application form on the startups page. Mux states three eligibility rules: the offer is valid for startups only, you must not be an existing Mux customer, and you must be a first-time recipient of Mux credits. Credits must be used within one year of activation. The form asks whether you are affiliated with one of Mux's named investor and accelerator partners, and the page says you may be eligible for more depending on your investors, but Mux does not publish that higher amount.

How to apply
5 steps- Open https://www.mux.com/startups and click Apply now. It scrolls to the application form further down the same page, there is no separate portal.
- Fill the six required fields: first name, last name, company name, email, company URL and country.
- Answer the required question 'What are you building, and where does video fit?' in the text box, and answer No to 'Do you already have a Mux account?'. An existing Mux account or a prior credit grant disqualifies you, so apply before signing up.
- In the 'Startup Program Partners' dropdown, select your investor or accelerator if it is listed. The list includes Accel, Andreessen Horowitz, Antler, Lightspeed, Redpoint, Gradient Ventures, Mercury, On Deck, Alchemist Accelerator, AstroLabs, Invest Ottawa and Leyden.vc. If none apply, select 'Other - No investor affiliation', which is a valid option and does not block the application.
- Submit with the 'Apply for Credits' button and wait for Mux to reply by email. Once the credits are activated, spend them within one year.
