Shortcut
Listed offer value
$144New customer, under 50 staff, under $10M raised, under 5 yrs
Eligibility & conditions
Shortcut is project management and issue tracking built for software teams, covering stories, sprints, docs and Git integrations. Shortcut runs its own startup program that gives 12 months free on the Business plan with SSO included, for new customers under 50 employees. The Business plan is listed at $12 per user per month on Shortcut's pricing page, so the perk is worth $144 per seat over the year, and more for a team. The claimed DigitalOcean Hatch offer of "2 months free of paid Standard Plan" is real and still printed on the DigitalOcean startups page, but Shortcut's pricing page no longer has a Standard plan at all (the plans are Free, Team $8.50, Business $12, Enterprise), so the direct route is both current and six times longer.

How to apply
5 steps- Check you qualify against Shortcut's five stated criteria: you are a new Shortcut customer, you have fewer than 50 employees, you are not a service provider or consulting agency, you have raised less than $10M USD in external funding, and your business is less than 5 years old.
- Start a Shortcut workspace or trial first, because the application form asks which trial the discount should be applied to.
- Open https://www.shortcut.com/startups/ and click "Apply now". This opens the Shortcut Startup Application form on Google Forms.
- Fill in your company email, your company website and your Shortcut trial name, then submit. There is no published deadline or cohort, applications are taken on a rolling basis.
- Wait for Shortcut to confirm by email and apply the 12 free months to your workspace. Do not use the DigitalOcean Hatch route for this vendor unless you are applying to Hatch anyway for other credits, since that path lists only 2 months.
