Eligibility & conditions

UpCloud is a Finnish cloud provider running 15 data centres, and its Startup Program grants service credits plus 24/7 human support and solution-architect consultations. Credits are tiered on objective criteria, not negotiated: €1,000 for startups in Europe outside the Nordics, €5,000 for Nordic startups (FI, SE, NO, DK, IS), and €10,000 to €25,000 at UpCloud's sole discretion only for startups that have raised over €5M and are affiliated with a VC, incubator or accelerator in UpCloud's ecosystem. Eligibility is limited to companies registered in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland with a valid VAT ID, founded within the last 24 months, and not already an UpCloud customer; you must open an UpCloud account before applying. GPU servers are excluded from credit usage, so this covers general compute, storage, networking and managed databases rather than AI training.

How to apply

5 steps
  1. Create a free UpCloud account at https://signup.upcloud.com/ first. The program requires an active account before you apply, and you must not already be a paying UpCloud customer.
  2. Check the hard gates before spending time: company registered in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, a valid VAT ID, and founded within the last 24 months. If you fail any of these you are ineligible at every tier.
  3. Open https://upcloud.com/upcloud-startup-program/ and complete the form at the bottom of the page: first name, last name, business email, company name, registration country, website URL, UpCloud username, VAT ID, and the 'Company founded in the last 24 months?' question.
  4. Have proof of company registration and your VAT ID ready. If you are going for the €10,000 to €25,000 tier, also prepare funding round documentation showing over €5M raised and proof of your VC, incubator or accelerator affiliation.
  5. Wait 5 to 10 business days for review. UpCloud assigns your tier and credit validity period on approval (24 months for the top tier, 12 months for the €5,000 and €1,000 tiers) and confirms usage details in a welcome email.
